Prospective MS and PhD Students
We are looking for students who are excited to work on foundational questions in AI for protein engineering. Students with experience in machine learning, molecular modeling, protein engineering, or biochemistry are especially encouraged to apply.
I am primarily involved with admissions through the ChemBE program at JHU. The program admits as a cohort, so please apply through there and note your interest in working with me in the application. The deadline for the Fall 2027 PhD program is December 1, 2026. Applicants that would fit better with other programs, such as Computational Biology and Computer Science, can feel free to email me as well.
Prospective Postdoctoral Researchers
We welcome candidates with strong training in experimental protein engineering/synthetic biology and an interest in developing wet-lab enzyme engineering workflows that are integrated with machine learning methods. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, biological engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, or related fields. Previous experience with machine learning, computational chemistry, and/or computational biology is helpful, but not required.
